Halloween pumpkins

You might know that we don't celebrate Halloween in Hungary. Unfortunately. Honestly, I deeply miss this custom from our traditions as I think it would be an exciting thing to go from door to door saying 'Trick or treat!' and collecting big bags of chocolates and sweets (yummy:)).
It would be fun to participate in a Halloween party, to dress up in different frightening costumes, eat and carve fearful or funny faces from pumpkins...yeah, these customs all would be so great, if they were present here, too...
I'm sorry I cannot share my experiences with you in connection with Halloween, but instead of that I decided to show you a couple of interesting..(khmm, it's even more, let's say bizarre or extreme) pictures of different carved pumpkins, which I've found on the website: http://www.extremepumpkins.com/

Which is your favourite? :)

P.S.: For those who are not strong enough to see the most bizarre photos I have some good news: I'm displaying only the digestable ones:)

Grandma and Grandpa

Frankenstein

Cannibal

Flames in Face

Disappointed student face before exam

Clever student face with braces

...and finally, my favourite:

Pumpkin with hands

Have a Happy Halloween!:)

Wonderful resemblance

I saw this picture of me and my sister for the first time today. It was taken approx. 25 years ago, my sister was about 11 and I was around 1 at that time. It's a cute little photo of the two of us, but more interestingly: (and the main reason why I'm showing it to you right now) you can discover an incredible resemblance between Caleb and me. We all know that Caleb has several faces and bears a likeness to many of the relatives, still, it was good to see how much he takes after on this photo NOT (okay, not only) Mommy,Daddy, Grandpa 1 and Grandpa 2, Grandma 1 and Grandma 2, Nelli, Jennifer, etc., but ME, the youngest Auntie. :)

Particularly nowadays, when I miss him so much.

Take a look at the photos!

Aranka (Big One) and me (Little One), 25 years ago

Caleb (the new Little One or Little One 2), a few months ago

P.S.: I was searching for a photo that is a good example for our resemblance. This picture proved to be quite good, though I know there might be other great, or even better examples as well. If you find one (or if you happen to find The Best One) please inform me. Thanks. :)

Excursion to the Hungarian, grandparent-like 'Little House on the Prairie'

Due to the Hungarian National Holiday (the 23rd of October),we spent two days at our Grandparents' house. Come and enjoy the beautiful (aren't they) pictures below taken of the Hungarian landscape (by me and from the car-a great acceptable explanation for the imperfect quality of the pictures, isn't it..of course if there are imperfections at all, 'cause the photos are small enough to not to perceive them...;) Yeah, I'm tricky..:))

On the way to our destination we have seen beautiful lands with farmhouses, natural lakes, hills, valleys and fields

Thousands of clouds, trees and bushes with colourful leaves and one of Hungary's greatest mountains, the Matra

On the way back home we enjoyed the sunset and the brilliant shades, light and dark contrasts of the sky

Bilingual diary

First of all, welcome everyone who will read my blog!:)
Unfortunately so far, due to mainly two reasons I could not start writing my own little blog you were waiting for. No 1. reason:I did not have the time -honestly, I am rarely at home and if I am, there are other responsibilities that I have to do. No 2. reason: nor did I have the opportunity to write anything - funnily, I was suspected to have created a 'spam blog' or what, so my opportunity was taken away for a few days...:( But now I have returned and promise to try to write as often as I can (at least once a month...;))
The most important announcement for today is that I decided to write some kind of bilingual blog, which does not mean that I will translate every story or comment into English or Hungarian and provide a double version of it, no, it means I will try to write in both languages, sometimes English and sometimes Hungarian. The reasons must be obvious (YOU are the reason dear over-the-sea relatives:)) furthermore, I am sure that this will be a good practice for me as well:)
Hope to see you frequently here,
Love,
Bruryah

P.S.: If you find any incorrectness in my English vocabulary or grammar, please let me know.
